The representatives of the Agency for Spatial and Urban Planning of the Republic of Serbia participated in the work of the working group within the project “CITIZENS’ VOICE IN SPATIAL AND URBAN PLANNING”, organized by NALED, on Fruška Gora, from 8 to 10 April 2024.

The aim of the project is to increase public participation in spatial and urban planning in Serbia, through the implementation of the digital platform “BE PART OF THE PLAN” , through which all interested parties receive information about the development of new planning documents and amendments to existing ones in real time, with the possibility of submitting objections and suggestions electronically during the period of early public hearing and public hearing.

The platform, which represents an important step towards the establishment of a unified national E-Space system, can be accessed by all citizens of Serbia.

For the time being, the platform operates for the needs of the city of Kragujevac which has been selected as a pilot local self-government unit and about whose planning documents, both in the process of developing or amending, all interested parties are notified by email, SMS or Viber message.

The group discussed previous results in the implementation of the project, while concurrently defining special conclusions referring to possible steps towards the improvement of this platform and additional activities on expanding services related to greater public participation in spatial and urban planning in Serbia.
